Fondation EDF makes us...
GET
INTO
THE
LIGHT
Work
The Light Matters installation by Erwin Redl, presented at the EDF Foundation in Paris in 2018-2019, unfolds as an immersive light architecture, structured across two levels. Composed of thousands of programmable LEDs, the work invites visitors to become living elements of the installation: as they wander through the space, their bodies resonate with the light, blurring the boundary between reality and digitality, between shadow and light.
Work
Through this work, Redl transposes the abstract aesthetic language of virtual worlds and 3D modeling into a physical space, making light a structuring material. The LEDs, subtly varying between red and blue, oppose sensual warmth and rational coolness, offering a sensory experience where each human presence shapes the dialogue between light, space, and body.
