In early 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak led to successive lockdowns and the enforcement of strict social distancing measures. Public gatherings were cancelled, travel was restricted, and cultural events were suspended, forcing creators to fundamentally rethink their presentation formats..
Context
Balenciaga conceived a runway show entirely filmed against a green screen at the Cité du Cinéma and broadcast via VR headsets, enabling the brand to stage an ambitious show while complying with health regulations.
Project
The Digital Immersion agency, an expert in immersive solutions, led the entire 360° capture process, while La Room's Cut handled the post-production. In just three days, nearly fifty models were filmed and assembled to bring the runway show to life in virtual reality.
